Accidents happen every day in California. While many of them are caused by a simple moment of inattention, police often look for more nefarious causes of accidents. Unfortunately, a man has recently been arrested in California, suspected of vehicular manslaughter, following a recent fatal crash.
The incident reportedly happened on a day in late November. Police believe that a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old man collided with a white vehicle. The force of the collision, according to police, is said to have caused the latter vehicle to flip before crashing into three oncoming vehicles.
Four passengers in the white vehicle died at the scene, while the driver was hospitalized. Police say that the driver of the first vehicle fled the scene, but he was taken into custody afterward when police found a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the accident. In total, six people were hospitalized following the crash. The driver of the car police believe left the scene has since been arrested, suspected of three felonies, vehicular manslaughter, DUI and hit-and-run. He is currently being held in lieu of bail.
If convicted of the charges against him — including vehicular manslaughter — as a result of the California crash, the man will likely face serious consequences. Because the decisions that he makes over the course of the next several weeks could potentially have a huge impact on the rest of his life, he may choose to seek advice from an experienced criminal defense attorney. Fortunately, there are professionals who can help ensure that he is fully equipped to make the necessary decisions.
