A car accident can happen at any time for a variety of different reasons. Factors such as lack of visibility or unexpected road conditions, among many others, could potentially increase the chance of a crash. Unfortunately, a man in California has recently been accused of drunk driving following a crash that resulted in two deaths.

The incident happened during the early morning hours of a day in December. According to reports, one of the victims was a contractor for a newspaper and was apparently delivering papers at the time of the accident. Reports indicate that the vehicle containing the two victims may have been traveling at a slow speed at the time of the accident.

Unfortunately, police say that a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old male struck the slow-moving vehicle. The 52-year-old newspaper contractor and his 43-year-old wife died in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle required extrication. He was treated at the hospital before being charged with several crimes. Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the crash.

Even in the best of circumstances, it may be difficult to avoid an accident when a driver comes upon a slow-moving vehicle. In the dark, it is likely even more challenging. Regardless, the surviving driver now faces multiple charges following the crash, including allegations of drunk driving. Because of the severity of the charges against him and the potential consequences of a conviction, the young California man may choose to seek guidance from an attorney with experience with similar cases.
