Drunk driving charge after California luxury vehicle crash

News stories involving car crashes are often of interest in the local area. However, when an accident involves an expensive luxury vehicle, the incident is often of interest internationally. Such appears to be the case following a crash in California that left the driver of a Lamborghini, valued at over $200,000, accused of drunk driving.

While many details of how the accident occurred are unclear, reports indicate that it happened during the early morning hours of a day in February. According the reports, the car struck a construction trailer. The force of the impact pushed the vehicle underneath the trailer.

When police arrived at the scene, they claim that a 31-year-old male -- who police believe was driving the car -- was wandering around the scene looking for his 25-year-old male passenger. Reports indicate that rescue workers, hindered by the instability of the trailer and live wires in the area, spent 45 minutes attempting to access the passenger side of the vehicle only to find it empty. The passenger was later discovered at the driver's home, and only minor injuries were reported for both men.

The California driver has since been arrested under suspicion of drunk driving. It was not immediately clear how officials determined that he was under the influence of alcohol or what his blood alcohol content was at the time of the accident. Nevertheless, the man has the right to consult a criminal defense attorney to investigate his case and help him prepare the strongest defense possible to fight the charges.
