Any number of hazards that can make driving more difficult. For example, when driving at night, visibility may be reduced. Unfortunately, police in California say that a pedestrian was recently killed in a crash. The man police believe was driving the vehicle that allegedly struck the woman is suspected of vehicular manslaughter, among other crimes.

The incident happened at approximately 10 p.m. Police say that the 39-year-old female victim was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle. Police say that she was in a marked crosswalk at the time. Unfortunately, she passed away.

Reports accuse the driver of failing to remain at the scene. However, witnesses reportedly called 911, and one is said to have followed the vehicle. Police accuse the man of driving away when officers pulled up behind him. He was allegedly taken into custody when he crashed into a fence at his home. In addition to accusations of vehicular manslaughter, the man is also suspected of evading police and driving under the influence resulting in injury to another.

The man is currently being held on $250,000 bond. Following his arrest, he may feel uncertain about his legal options and the criminal justice system in general. As a result, many people in California suspected of vehicular manslaughter and other crimes often choose to seek guidance from an experienced criminal defense attorney. With such help, they often feel more prepared to make the potentially life-changing decisions facing them, including whether to accept a plea deal — if offered — or attempt to fight the charges at trial.
