California woman accused of vehicular manslaughter in fiery crash

The unexpected loss of a young life is always a tragedy and often results in a demand for answers and justice, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the incident. Unfortunately, three people recently lost their lives in a fiery crash in California. A woman was arrested in the aftermath of the crash, suspected of vehicular manslaughter.

The incident happened at approximately 1 a.m. on a day in late March. According to witnesses, a white vehicle slammed into the back of a red vehicle stopped at a red light. A witness claimed that the white vehicle appeared to slow down as it approached the stopped vehicle before accelerating and striking the latter in the rear.

The red car reportedly became engulfed in flames. The witness says that an occupant of the vehicle was able to escape but three others were trapped inside. Though firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, the three people inside died at the scene. The driver of the red vehicle was uninjured. In addition to an accusation of vehicular manslaughter, the 27-year-old woman is also suspected of driving under the influence.

Regardless of the accusations that lead to criminal charges in California -- including vehicular manslaughter -- those facing them have certain rights. They are entitled to an attorney who can advise them throughout the criminal process, ensuring that they are able to make informed decisions. Having such a person on their side from the earliest stages can help protect them even during initial questioning. In all cases, those facing charges are presumed innocent until -- and only if -- sufficient evidence is provided to prove otherwise.
